‘A Natural Conductor‘ was created during what appeared to be the final stages of the coronavirus pandemic in England, as the lock down was easing. Unlike earlier pieces of mine created during this period, ‘A Natural Conductor‘ was not designed as an apotropaic piece but as a way to empower, consolidate direction and focus, and to give strength of purpose.

Mixed media with shells from antique necklaces (for the whispered stories and strength that can come from oral traditional and history), seeds (potentialities for new growth), seeds from antique mala beads (the strength of repeated, directed, right action to manifest positive creation), trading beads (a reminder that humanity can never be reduced to an economic, material status), fingernails from horn beads in a vintage necklace (pointing out direction from that which is redundant), and myriads of glass beads ( to create a playground to occupy distracting, mischievous spirits) in colours ranging from black to shades of gold (transmutation).

This piece is a right hand and represents the ability to learn from the past and move forward, grasping positive potentialities and consolidating them in order to transcend and progress.
